PROGRAMS

IAHM conducts its popular educational programs and activities with the support of community volunteers and in collaboration with leading cultural and educational institutions. Key program activities include:

Cross-Cultural community discussions

IAHM is participating in the Chicago Cultural Alliance's Talking About…Series to bring together ethnic communities in Chicago to discuss contemporary issues, such as immigration, ethnic identity, climate change and health care, from the perspectives and experiences of community members.

Community discussions will be facilitated by trained IAHM volunteers following the Chicago Cultural Alliance’s Civic Engagement Model.

  • Talking About... Identity. IAHM will host a cross-cultural discussion in partnership with the Cambodian American Heritage Museum. We invite individuals interested in viewing a thought-provoking exhibit by Kip Fulbeck: Part Asian, 100% HAPA at the Field Museum and in participating in a discussion on identity in America.

Participants will receive free admission to the Field Museum and transportation from the Indo-American Heritage Museum, if desired.  It will be an interesting morning as you discover yourself and your identity. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
